Hook: Dai-Riki 950
While the classic Clouser Minnow is an iconic fly and productive fly, subtle variations can elevate fishing success beyond the usual store bought versions. This color combination with the addition of the red gills is a tired and true variant in my fly boxes. The color combination itself was developed in Colorado Bend State park for white bass by the members of the Alamo Fly Fishers, but I have fished this color combination numerous places and it produces! It is particularly well suited to clear water conditions when a natural color scheme is needed. Total length is about 2 inches with medium bead chain eyes.
